New Titanium DeSalvo Gravel Bike

Finally got my long awaited gravel bike put together this summer and have been basically living on it. Mike DeSalvo made me a titanium go everywhere-do everything bike and it fits my needs and where I ride to a T. I’ve had some of the parts gathered for the build for a while, so that explains the 11sp Di2 2X GRX drivetrain. If I was buying all new parts, I’d probably use the new 12sp wireless Di2, although the 11sp cassette works on my existing wheels without a new cassette driver. I don’t feel like I’m wanting for lower gears without the 2X setup. The Enve dropper post is coming off. It was free and worth every penny. After one short ride it stopped returning to the top position unless I manually lifted it back into place. At least it stays up and doesn’t creep down. I’m debating on whether or not to replace it with another dropper that works or just go with a straight post. I don’t find myself wanting to drop the seat much, but it’s also a pain in the but when I do, so maybe that is influencing my choice. I was on the fence about the suspension fork and am so happy I went with it. It’s been great and I haven’t regretted the choice once. The comfort and control from just 50mm of quality travel make descents and shitty roads fun instead of just manageable. They were fun in the past, but now it’s full on grin inducing and I’m feeling fresher in my upper body after rides. 100% would recommend. I realize this isn’t a gravel race bike. I don’t race anymore. I’m out on crappy rural roads that are falling apart, logging and FS roads, and exploring the woods around me. It fits 2.1” tires and as soon as the 45 Contis wear out, I’ll put a 50mm or 2.0 tire with a supple casing and small knobs on it.
