I don’t know if anyone remembers my previous post but I used to have a G Line. I really wanted to love the bike but ultimately I found it quite boring. I originally bought it for touring but ended up using it for commuting. It never really fulfilled the role of touring bike and never really worked as a commuter bike. I sold it and bought a C Line,

I love the C Line. It’s so much more fun to ride and so much better for bringing on the train. It folds much smaller and is way more stable folded than the G Line. It’s only a bit lighter but really it’s the size that makes a difference. It’s way easier to carry as it’s not as bulky.

I also just find the C Line more fun to ride, I love the weird gears and the sounds from the rear hub. I find it really fun that it doesn’t feel like a normal bike. I never found the G line that exciting, despite it being a fantastic bike.

What do you people think? I feel like the G line is a great bike, it just isn’t for me.

It’s a lovely colour. I recently did the same trading a G line electric for a T line the difference in weight and mobility is huge.
I hope you enjoy your bike 💕💕💕

  2. Congrats! I’m a relatively new 6 gear c series brompton owner as well and it sure is a fun bike to ride. I use it for riding in the neighborhood and working out, not commuting. Great bike. How many gears does your brompton have? I was going to get a “regular” hybrid bike like a Cannondale or something of that nature but the size factor even though I have a garage to store it is what made me decide to go with the brompton.

I’m having a bit of a “comfort” issue with the seat as its not as comfortable as I’d like it to be but other than that it’s great

  3. Awesome choice, OP. I originally wanted the G Line but ended up getting a 12-speed c line for the same reasons you mentioned.

  4. Really interesting!

I think I’m going the opposite way, I sold right now my quite modified and tuned P Line, which I really loved,

after a test ride this week, I think I will take a G Line.
