Tubular wheels and crack between spokes so not overly worried about repairing the area but this will be a first, they're indoor wheels so not heavy loads
Sanded down to identify the crack on my indoor trainer wheel, should i remove more carbon until it stops clicking or patch now?

Bro that wheel is DONE
LOL how much did you sand it??? 😂
The carbon isn’t supposed to be paper thin.
What you need to figure out is if it is structural or not. Some older deep profile “carbon rims” were actually a carbon faring around an aluminum rim. In that case ride as is. If that’s structural toss the rim/wheel. Side note if it’s only used on a trainer what do you care really?
Take it over to BCJ. They can get you an answer.
We’ve done carbon repair on tubular wheels. Worked fine and they were roval 30s and we raced them in CX. My only tip is to loosen the spokes before you repair. It was nearly impossible to true because the rim was repaired with it out of true.
Textbook would say sand until all loose fibers are gone, but beginner carbon repair is easier with something to use as a structural base. I’d patch as is *for trainer use only*. Wheels flex a lot and a patch repair has a high risk of being *unsafisfactory*, which is a euphemism for working itself apart over time and endangering you and potentially others.
Soak it up before mods take it down.
