Finally back from the suspension install and full pivot overhaul. Way too much in fully modern parts on this 2006 Stumpjumper FSR Expert. I liked how the geo looked and thought I could turn the old girl into a pretty sweet slopeduro rig, got very lucky with being able to find a fork in the right travel and steerer size, and a modern metric shock that was within 1mm of the original SAE spec, everything bolted up great. Excited for the many rides to come, feels like a NBD.

Manitou Circus Expert 130mm straight steer tube, and a 190x45mm Fox Float Performance (normal eye to eye metric, this won’t work for the brain era the followed this bike)

I had a 2005 and absolutely loved that bike even though it was a size too small. Bikes made in the last decade are indescribably more capable, but at the same time I also rode mine at trestle, deer valley, and Mt. Hood before I updated around 2016. Granted, I taco’d the absolute shit out of my front wheel on Mt. Hood. Still found myself kind of missing it on some flat trails I was riding on last weekend.
