This weekend I decided to take part in my first proper cycling event in almost a decade, the Liverpool-Chester-Liverpool 2025 event. I opted for the 50 mile course, as the 100 mile option felt too far out of my reach, given I’ve only been cycling again for a couple of months.
In summary, the ride was brilliant, and I would definitely recommend next years’ event to anyone interested. It didn’t come without it’s challenges though. I suspect I probably overdid it and cramp and fatigue set in towards the end.

If anyone is interested in the ride next year, check it out here: https://liverpoolchesterliverpool.com/

  1. Great vid Andy! Subscribed. As one of those speed merchants (made me laugh) from your video, it was nice to see a replay of the event. It was a top day out wasn't it?!

  2. Man, cramp is the worst! I once got cramp on the way back from Box Hill, I was on a hill where it narrowed for a railway bridge. I got out the saddle, cramped up so bad I couldn’t unclip and promptly fell over 😂
Touch wood that hasn’t happened for a little while but you have my sympathy!

  3. Try the Lincoln GP finishing on Michael Gate after 60+ miles, the number of poor sods getting cramp on the combles climb is very likely. If you stop its game over
