I’ve been quietly itching to get a Brompton for ages but have prioritised other things – family commitments, always other costly life tasks. I explored secondhand but I prefer the guarantee and my partner encouraged me to just do it, and so a week later, I have a matt black 12-speed C-line. Any colour, as long as it’s black.
I haven’t ridden a bicycle for about 20 years but am fit so did 24k to London Bridge and back – ostensibly to get a decent pump – mostly so I could explore the route and sing ‘weeeee’ lots of times as I flew down the cycle lanes. I felt free again. Unconstrained.
What a joy.
My partner is an ex-cyclocross racer with a tradition of naming his bikes – his pride is named The Princess (with Princess Mononoke handbar caps). Do people name their Bromptons?
Oh, and I have a rack, recommend me critical need and pleasing accessories?

Get some bag for a carrier block, you won’t regret.
Hi OP, lights, waterproof, and helmet unfortunately at you have to venture away from the protected cycle lanes, so be seen, be dry and protect your head 🙂
You might want a bag to go on the front for drinks, sandwiches etc

I own the same bike, same color. My first “accessory” was a set of DIY protective stickers all over the frame to prevent chafing from cables, tyres, hook. I mainly used some generic matte transparent film that is almost invisible. A nuisance but also peace of mind. More details:
