‘Ride The Lights’ event – Blackpool

Just thought I’d plug this. Its on this Tuesday, 1st Sept. I’m hoping to take the Brompton to it. They shut a 6 mile stretch of Blackpool promenade to road traffic from 7-10pm to allow cyclists a preview of the illuminations. I’ve done it before and it’s good fun.

You will see wacky things such as Log Flume boats out on the road, old guys with Raleigh Choppers, all sorts of weird bikes, some of which are festooned with LED lights. As well as being able to cycle in the road, there’s the usual generously wide shared cycle / pedestrian coastal path too.
