Two things:
One,; I’m pretty tired (mid-TdF life crisis if I’m being honest), so we leaned into the set pieces a bit more for this episode. But, we all love FAN ZONE (don’t forget to submit your questions!) and any excuse to get chef Owen in there is great. So, it’s a win win (win?), even though, we objectively, did not win the day.

About the question in the description: I definitely try (and fail) to NOT read comments when I know I will most likely find something upsetting, but RaceTV's comments section feels like a safe space and generally kind so I do read comments in here
As busy as you must be, not sure if you get to read all the comments, but I had to say how much I appreciate your daily Race TV videos. What a monumental effort and the content is great. Jonathan has a way of surrounding himself with great people and building a great culture and your videos do a great job of capturing it!!!

Yes! Totally read the video description, and I read the comments on RaceTV videos (and some other channels where the community is awesome). You guys have been killing it with the videos, as well as the racing! Enjoy the rest day, all of you! Oh, and I love the Oatly "commercial interlude" with the bikers (moto and pedal)! Every time I see it I see something new, like today one of the motor bikers on the pedal bike in the background! 😂😂

I don’t know if anybody writes comments or reads them. But I have to say that I appreciate this great show within a show. I’m rolling with you all on this fantastic voyage through France. Otherwise, I’m stuck back in the States trying to beat the heat.
I may not get to visit Carcassone in person, and am thankful to pass through with you all.
Carcassonne was a famous stronghold of the Cathars, a radical Christian sect that taunted Pope Innocente’s power, and known to be strictly vegetarian. In 1209, the city was besieged and ultimately fell to the crusaders, leading to the expulsion of the Cathars from Carcassonne. Other castles like Lastours, served as places of refuge for the Cathars during the persecution.
So hats off to all the hard-cores who try to resist Papal (or Pogi) authority!
