  1. Does the crack extend all the way through ?

That’s a scrap frame unfortunately, no way to repair aluminium!

You could try wrapping with carbon fibre, but realistically this will have issues with things like flatness in this area.

You could try the warranty/ crash replacement with the manufacturer.

  2. This is the PROBLEM with bike companies going CHEAP. Top companies do this too.
You CANNOT put a freewheel on an aluminum frame. The axle is going to break eventually like all freewheel axles do, and when it does it TAKES THE FRAME WITH IT.
I had a customer with this exact problem last week. Axle was completely cracked and so was the dropout. A steel frame can absorb it. Aluminum can’t.

The frame is trashed. There is no fixing it. You’re fucked my friend, sorry to say.
For anyone else in the market for an aluminum frame? ALWAYS make sure you’re running a freehub, not a freewheel.

  3. The crack is in the solid part of the frame, so it can be welded. Go find a good machine shop and see if they can put a bead on it. If the crack was on the tubing, you’re be out of luck.

  4. I’d put a new wheel in there and continue to ride it. The crack is across the mudguard eyelet, not the main part of the dropout . Meanwhile, keep your eyes open for a replacement bike, because eventually the crack will grow.
