Japan trip with my Brompton, so glad i brought it!
had a front carry bag and a very small chain lock when needed.
locked it against some fence for 2-4 hours at a time and never had issues, maybe i was lucky?
did this at shimbashi, ginza, Tsukiji Market.
the bike store that was selling bromptons was in Shimbashi. sadly they were not open or i would have taken some photos of it.

What a great city to have a Brompton in! Definitely one of the only countries I would lock it out of sight for any length of time.
