Hi folks! I’ve been commuting to work on my Brompton (about an hour each way) and I’m loving it but towards the end of my rides I’m noticing some aches and pains at the base of my neck, between my shoulder blades. Nothing too crazy but it hurts a little to look down – feels a bit like I fell asleep on an airplane lol. Anything I should look into adjusting to sort it a little bit? I got it secondhand so never had a fit or anything – wondering if it might be something to do with the higher handlebars as I’m only 5’2 and was used to a road bike before. Any tips appreciated!:)

Are you by any chance gripping the handlebars hard?

Other than that, bring the bike to a good bike shop and they’ll adjust handlebars and saddle level and alignment to fit you. (Or if you’re feeling rich you could go for a professional bike fit.)

But it’s probably Mr Grippy. Relax your hold, and don’t clench your teeth together. Maybe take a break in the middle of the journey for a few stretches.
