This bike is for sale for 1000eu in the Netherlands. I am very tempted by this bike, but the only thing I am unsure of is the cost and the rim brakes. I do about 80-100km rides from Amsterdam, essentially 0 elevation and no fast corners, so I do not see rim brakes being an issue, I've never had rim brakes on carbon wheels so I need to learn about that too. I am not into racing, just morning rides for fitness, so I am looking for an endurance style frame. Does this cost make sense?

  1. Cool bike! I think 1k is a fair price for the Netherlands – in my market it would be great, but Benelux prices are usually lower.

I wouldn’t be worried about carbon rim brake , they work well enough unless you’re constantly riding in the rain. A thing to maybe think about is the electronic shifting – it’s quite old and Shimano does not make replacement parts any more AFAIK.

If you’ve fallen in love with this bike, I think it’s worth a buy even with the outdated tech.

  2. Myself riding a 2024 sl6 Domane

    Not in Netherlands but Germany
And 1k€ Sound to much for a 7 year old bike with rim brakes.
And the built t 1x group is difficult. And they slammed the front stem quite low. So not much of Domane characteristics

I would give it a pass
