  1. for a beginner bike for triathlons… i think the price is a bit too high for what you’d like to do. i’d look secondhand and then once you develop more interest and experience then get a nice one new. i got a speedmax for €1.5k used – it’s only a few years old but it’s rim brakes. i recommend checking out your local marketplace first.

if you don’t care about road cycling and will only focus on triathlon/TTs then a TT bike would suit your use case well. however if you want one bike that does it all, then i’d probably stick with a road bike (or even a gravel bike so you can swap thin/fat tyres at your disposal), and you can then put aerobars on for the TT sessions. for the same amount of money you’d then get quite a decent specced one with deep wheels that’s only a few years old.

I got the Endurace Allroad as my bike for my first triathlons and training and it’s been great. I got a second carbon wheelset for it with road tires and keep gravel tires on the stock wheels so I can swap them out easily depending on the type of ride I want to do.

If/when I get more competitive in the tris I’ll probably upgrade to an Aeroad though
