Trek for the hydraulic brakes and the not-Framed-branded tires

I started out whith a Gravity fat bike, another online direct to consumer budget bike brand with those same breaks. They were not good. Besides that the geometry ended up making it just feel wobbly to ride. I ended up upgrading to a Rocky mountain blizzard, a name brand, and the ride quality of my blizzard is leagues beyond the direct to consumer Gravity bike.
I was also unable to fit a dropper post to my gravity, so future compatibility for upgrades is another area the budget online direct consumer brands fall down. However that specific problem doesn’t seem to be the case with this framed.
My experience would suggest going for the track out of gate.
But hey, that recall is nothing to shake a stick at.

Ehhh…neither? The Framed isnt the greatest and the Trek is mostly good – that frame design has been around forever – however the fork is an odd spacing so the wheel will match accordingly. If you do any upgrades you’ll have to find niche parts for the front end. Not sure what your budget is but you should be able to get a newer farley with a carbon fork or even a specialized fatboy for $750-$1k based on my local facebook marketplace….
ETA: Look for something with 150/197 hub spacing and your life will be infinitely easier later. It’s worth spending a little more now to save yourself headaches and cash later.
