On Day 1, Nick (AJP PR7) and Wes (KTM 690) hit the trails starting from Carlisle and carving our way 127 miles south into the heart of the Lake District. We couldn’t have asked for better conditions: wall-to-wall sunshine, breathtaking views, and some of the best green lanes the North has to offer.

If you know the lanes please give me a name along with the timestamp and I’ll add it to the chapters so others can find it. I’d also appreciate comments from PR7 owners or from others who have ridden this route before. Always happy for feedback on how I can improve future videos but please keep it polite

When you park it pop it in first gear and let the chain take the slack. You wont need a stronger stand, all it should be doing is stopping it from tipping 🙂
Would a 3rd or 4th rider to share the gates be better?
Keep the videos as they are. You can add music but low in the background. Engine sound has it’s own charm. Lovely! Be safe, have fun

Out of curiosity, Our Drz’s are just a little more ground clearance than yours at 325mm, both our bikes are uprated front and rear too.. x-trig on mine..
Could i ask what rating your front and rear springs were..?

Fair points re the suspension, I have had to go to two sets of springs on my T7, one for solo riding and one for camping riding. It’s a problem that leaves both places not feeling as supple as a bike just set up for solo riding. Test drove the PR7 when it first came out in Bodmin. Felt great to me then, the T7 is a nicer road bike, the PR7 much better suited to what you are doing in this vid. Thanks for sharing.

I'm curious how many hours your rode each day? For 850 miles over 7 days I'm assuming just over 100 miles a day, give or take some on each day, how long did that take you?
I'd love to do that route, being from Scotland it's great to see a route before doing it to ensure it's one I can manage on the big Africa Twin, but I rarely have a full week to commit to something like this, plus the added journey there and back to Glasgow. Do you think it's something that could be done in fewer days with more hours in the saddle on each day or was a week a sensible timeframe?

Great stuff Nick just right. Music can ruin footage since the liking is very personal.
On my 25 PR7 I cranked the side stand bolt. Now the stand doesnot flip up so easily and the bike stands much more stable. You could cut the bolt where the spring folds over to make it perfect but that could be dangerous…
