Research shows women bear the brunt of extreme heat, from body temperature regulation to disrupting the menstrual cycle.

Oxford climate scientist Chloe Brimicombe explains the gendered impacts of climate change, and why groups like children and the elderly are especially vulnerable as Europe faces another intense heatwave, made more likely and more intense by fossil fuelled climate change.

  1. Wtf. Woke sht. Can we go back to normal now? Why on earth youd do a video on this. Main stream media will be dead in 5 years. Thank God literally 🙌 yes men and women are different well done!

  2. Saying climate change affects women more than men is a strange thing to say when the whole of humanity is at risk. Kind of misses the point.

  3. Lived in Italy 22 years of my life before moving to the uk. Trust me, heat in the summer makes periods heavier and does delay them. The heat makes your body too stressed

  4. Is that why my Mrs is cold until it gets to 23C and is too hot at 27C where as im not cold until it drops to 5C and get hot when it gets above 38C. I just laugh and say your thermostat is broken.

  5. Lies😂 The sun is natural vitamin D . Many countries are hot like this all year round .

Back in the day we would have enough water at least to maintain crops or sprinklers for the grass.

Every time summer is hot in the UK they reduce the water supply 😂😂😂😂

  6. Extreme heat affects everyone. Trying to turn heatwaves into a ‘woman’s health issue’. Is ridiculous and counter productive. It’s biased stuff like this that makes people turn against feminism. Clearly showing you’re ignoring that it’s mostly men working outdoors in extreme heat while you sit in an air conditioned office with the other women.

  7. Europeans are making a big deal and a big scene of this heatwave.
Japan, India, Saudi Arabia, North Africa, some lived in desert and other have 45°C and they still continue to live with this heat.
I don't find them complaining except India recently.

  8. It’s insane how the men in this comment section just hate to see this. What is it that’s so triggering? That it focuses on women? That it makes it feel like men don’t struggle in the heat too? If having to accept the heat effects women is so damning to you, you might need to take a look at yourself
