Cycling through the south of England again, this time heading to Silchester.

We start by taking a train from Southampton to Mortimer, then cycle along quiet country roads towards Silchester, Newbury, and Donnington.

Silchester was once a major Roman town, known as Calleva Atrebatum. Parts of the Roman walls are still standing today, and just outside is an old amphitheatre.

The route then continues towards Newbury, passing through the town centre before heading to Donnington Castle.

This was another cycling trip back in 2022 during my Master’s. Just exploring new places, enjoying the countryside, and taking things at a slower pace.

Hope you enjoy the ride.
