Hi,
I’m looking for touring routes in the US South. I’m especially curious about the Deep South (other than NOLA, have never been). I saw the routes on [bikepacking.com](https://bikepacking.com) but am looking for something a bit more road/gravel-like. I’m looking for something around 500mi with \~60mi days.
Please let me know if you have any recommendations! Right now I’ve been thinking Miami -> Jacksonville would be easy enough, but I feel like FL is culturally different from the south and I’d like to experience the culture.
Thanks!

Southern tier route from adventurecycling? The south has lots of stray dogs that like to chase bikes. If you stay on the southern tier, the dogs might be tired of chasing us.
I’ve done a big Florida loop before. Once you are away from the coast and big tourist areas, it still feels like the South to me. Although I will say the South itself can vary quite a bit from sub-area to sub-area, and it’s got its own unique feel.
I have looked into combining the Silver Comet/Chief Ladiga trails with the Natchez Trace Parkway to do a trip, combing some backroads and probably a train.
