What the hell were they thinking,if at all? They should be prosecuted for causing that crash. Reckless driving maybe as it is a vehicle!!

People keep acting surprised when fans get in the way of bike races, but this is a centuries-old problem. If you hold a race on a public road, you are inviting the public to be part of the course. Expecting the crowd to act like a professional barrier is just setting everyone up for failure. Stop blaming the fans for "getting in the way" blame the organizers for choosing a venue that makes these accidents inevitable.
