  1. Cut a notch into the head of the bolt and use a flathead screwdriver to remove. A small Dremel tool could spare the cap.

A hardware store should have a replacement for cheap, M6 x 1.00 flat head hex bolt about 30-40mm long.

Try removing the handlebar and loosen the stem clamping bolts. Then hold the fork still and try unscrewing the screw and cap using the stem, pulling up on the stem.

  3. I’d cut a slit for a big flathead screwdriver or a coin in the bolts head and unscrew it with that, if you dont have any special tools. Cap will get damaged but these are cheap and easy to replace.

  4. If you have access to some torx bits, try hammering one into it. The teeth of it will cut I to the bolt and give you some purchase!

  5. I agree with cutting a notch in the bolt and using a flat head or sacrificing a torx bit.

One that hasn’t been mentioned is a reverse threaded drill bit. Once it digs in it will undo the bolt from the star nut in the steer tube of the fork.

  6. try just using tape to fill in the space for the allen key .. if that didn’t make it then what the other comments suggest add a notch or something

Before cutting anything, try an elastic band or rubber glove stretched over the rounded off bit first …. you may be able to get enough purchase on it. It’s a pre load bolt so it shouldn’t be massively tight.
