Bike novice – would appreciate some help!
Just received a brand new Trek FX Sport AL 3 but the wheels are different to the official spec.

Trek website wheel spec: Bontrager Connection, double-wall, 32-hole, 20 mm width, Schrader valve Formula DC-20, alloy, 6-bolt, 100×5 mm Formula DC-22, alloy, 6-bolt, Shimano 8/9/10 freehub, 135×5 mm
Wheel received: Bontrager Paradigm 23 TLR Disc Road Wheel, with presta valve (photo 2 and 3)
Should I be concerned? Appears to be an upgrade that is tubeless ready/ more expensive. Curious if running these on the FX Sport has any downsides? TIA

I got my FX3 about 3 weeks ago in store and this is what they were stocked with.
I know they discounted list price on this model recently, so maybe these were recent upgrades?
They do that when they have issues with supply, that’s why they always mention that they reserve right to change components in production. I recently bought Checkpoint and it had off spec brakes and tyres as well.
Paradigm is a bit of a upgrade, little lighter and tubeless ready, probably just have not updated the website
Nice upgrade, as now you can run a tubeless setup.
Trek says right on their website that substitutions happen, so no, not a concern. I’d be bothered if the Paradigm had 24 spokes (the ones popping up when I do a google search do) but I count 32 in your photo so that’s a non issue. It’s an upgrade if you want to run tubeless, it’s probably six of one and half a dozen of the other, otherwise.
You got lucky! Some of the fx3s are getting shipped with these when they have supply issues with the connection wheels. The paradigms are waaay better wheels.
Free upgrade due to supply chain shortages. I see this sort of thing from time to time.
Recently, there were some Marlin 7 bikes coming with carbon posts. Same deal, I’m sure. Trek could either not ship the bikes or they could throw a slightly more expensive part on and get it out the door.
Nice upgrade. Trek does this when the stock part is out.
