Yes I test rode it, it's only about 30lbs of stuff, just bulky (documents, dog food, a day of clothes, medications, repair kit, sleeping bag and a couple MRE's)
Just being cautious, my mini is broken so this is my best thing that can get the animals and I out. If the wind turns south and the fire travels about a mile I have to leave.
If I wasn't getting a gravel bike that will be for the bikepacking, this is the sign that I need a front rack too, lol. I am very glad I put that scissor folding center stand on it

As somebody who lives ridiculously close to numerous massive wildfires it absolutely IS. Traffic jams during evacuations are all too common. A bike will get you out and usually a safe spot is only 3 or 4 miles away.
