It’s fatal. That gash is not just the rubber – it’s through the threads. The basic integrity of the tire has been compromised.

Even without the gash, those tires probably should have been replaced a while ago.

    Very bad.

Additionaly please check your brake shoe alignment. This looks like you’re brake pads are going to rub against your tire once they’re just slightly worn and then any tire will become garbage in a few miles.

Replace the tyre now and then replace it again once the brake pads have worn through that one.

Get a new tire asap! And as Butcher mentioned, go for your brakepads alignment.

  6. Sidewall damage is always terminal.

Anything where the cords of the carcass of the tyre are damaged is always terminal.

You have sidewall damage where the cords are damaged.

On the plus side…. New tyre day!!
