What is going on with modern bikes?
Literally every time a racer hits the deck, the Chain gets fouled up. Every single time.
Back in the 70's and 80's, I was a UCI elite racer in the States. I was involved in several across the road, bikes scattered everywhere, crashes. Almost nobody had their chain come off.
I also witnessed many crashes. Very few had their chain mess up.
I was running Campagnolo and Suntour. I never had a problem. If your bike was in good operating order, you could race with confidence. Confidence, and a good bike, is important when you are blasting down a steep hill, at 60 plus miles an hour.
So, can anyone explain?
