Not impressed with Brompton’s Forged Front Carrier Block

I picked this up for my G Line and installed it following the instructions and after watching the brilliant bikes video. The frame of the block is fine, but its Achilles heel is the very piece that locks and releases bags mounted on the block. It’s a terrible nose-job. It’s a cheap piece of plastic that simply doesn’t perform the one job it’s intended for. Brompton brand bags won’t lock into place without manually pulling the spring mounted piece back. Attempting to mount the Brompton brand bag causes the metal on the bag frame to create these gouges in the plastic nose-job. The picture shows no more than a dozen attempts to mount two different Brompton brand bags. I took it to my dealer’s workshop thinking I had messed up the installation. Nope, in the tech’s opinion it’s just a piece of crap. I removed it and reinstalled the plastic block supplied with the bike. Next up: zero star review on Brompton’s website. I don’t expect to get my money back; rather I wanted to alert you all not to waste yours
