I'm still in the looking for scratches stage & came across this little Easter egg on the inside of the left chain stay. Thought it was a defect in the paint job until I gave it a closer look.

Now I can’t wait to get home and check this out on mine…
if an easter egg is a reminder that they dissolved a legendary brand after slowly watering it down for 16yrs then ok. loved my 2002 Tassajara disc but I am a bit sour about the whole thing.
That’s sweet – but also a sad reminder of Gary Fisher who had these Marlins on his bikes… in various places, and not just on the model called Marlin. Trek took over and slowly ruined the brand (not without skimming off the reputation before pulling the plug). Easter egg, yes, but sad to find.
