I visited Combe Valley Campers to get ideas for converting my newly purchased VW T4 and the visit may have stopped me making a massive mistake.
With the van still a blank canvas, I wanted to see different campervan interiors, bed systems, kitchen pods and conversion components in person before deciding what would actually work for me.
Unlike buying everything online, Combe Valley Campers allows you to touch, feel and test many of the products before spending your money.In this showroom walkaround, we look at everything from sound deadening, insulation, ply lining, windows and flooring to electrical systems, batteries, solar, chargers, inverters, awnings, camping accessories and a wide range of interior layouts.
The biggest discovery for me was that the U-shaped layout I had originally been considering probably would not suit the rear of my T4, especially as I want bench seating and a seat-belted travelling seat. After seeing the different options in person, I started to think that an L-shaped layout might be a much better solution.If you are planning a DIY campervan conversion, this visit shows why it can be worthwhile seeing the products and layouts before committing to a design.
