Just tried to reinstall my shock after a crash and with the front of the shock mounted to the bike, the rear mounting point of the shock won’t line up with the mounting point on the seatstays. I reached out to YT, and they said it is not uncommon to have to shift the shock, to get it to fit into the frame. They also indicated that forcing the shock into place (which I figured would put lateral stress on the shaft of the shock) will not negatively impact anything. Would someone be so kind as to watch this video and provide their opinion on whether or not this will damage the shock?

meaningless without showing us how much resistance it takes to get the mount to move to the proper location. a certain amount of play is normal. A certain amount of sagging off to one side isn’t concerning. If it resist putting it the right place something may be off.
I mean, YT are the ones who know the bike best. But I am not a fan of that, especially on coil. Rotatin the eyelet on a brand new shock? Sure! But that, on a pivot mechanism to in theory provide easy movement?
Safe/print all the info and answers they gave you, in case the shock actually snaps.
If you slacken off the linkage bolts at the back it should fall into place better. some frames I’ve worked on over the years have been a bit springy and needed pushing over to get things to align. It’s not always the best feeling thing to do. But as long as the linkages all move freely when it is in place then you’re fine.
You could test this by removing the coil and assembling it. Just cycle the suspension and see how it feels.
