I’m currently looking at two bikes on FB Marketplace.
One is a Cult Devotion. Most likely a 2021. Not much is talked about overall parts other than it having BSD Raider handlebars, 3p cranks 25t sprocket and a 9t cassette. They are asking 350 (no brake on it so that would add some cost since….new guy will need a brake lol). Oh and I think it has new Odyssey PC pedals as well.
The other is a mongoose L500 and is brand new (bought for a kid and it wasn’t what he was looking for). Asking 300. I hear the L’s hit above their weight BUT I’m sweating that freecoaster as a “student”.
Just looking to get some thoughts from a more experienced crowd on if a newbie like myself should roll the dice on an Cult from a local that flips bmx bikes but has an unknown background, or a L500 that is basically brand new.
(Note on the L500: It’s a 2.5 hour drive away. I dig driving but quality and freecoaster give me pause if it’s worth it with that devotion being maybe 10 to 15 minutes away).
