Sheffield Grand Prix: Strong Team Showing Despite Series Heartbreak
A mixed night for Wheelbase CabTech Castelli at the Sheffield Grand Prix, the final round of the National Circuit Series. Aaron King made the decisive four-rider break alongside eventual winner Ollie Wood, finishing second on the night and third overall in the series with 208 points.
It was a tougher night for series leader Tom Armstrong, who suffered a crash and lost his hopes of the title, finishing four laps down in 35th. He dropped to fourth overall on 190 points, and lost his Rapha Super-League lead by just two points to Wood.
The team took some consolation by winning the team classification on the night with 570 points. In the Super-League standings, Dexter Leeming-Sykes climbed six places to seventh on 53 points.
A massive thankyou to everyone who makes this team so good. There’s so many people behind the scenes dedicating time, money and energy for the love of the sport. Chapeau!
