Hi all,
My stats:
6’
200 lbs.
37” waist
40” hips
Shorter legs/longer torso
I ordered my first pair of ASSOS bibs, the Mille GT S11 in large per ASSOS. When I tried them on, they fit but the leg cuff was loose (see photo).
I learned a local shop stocks ASSOS so I went in and tried a medium, which also fit albeit they were a little tighter. The medium Mille did not have the cuff issue. I also tried on the Equipe R in large which fit nice.
All of them stopped at about my navel.
ASSOS is still recommending I keep the large. For those who ride these bibs, did you find sizing down in the Mille was okay?
Thanks!

Honestly just save yourself the hassle and pull them up an an inch or so .. they will not be lose in riding position
It’s the design, not the fit. If you want leg grippers that actually grip, try another brand.
In the riding position, and a little bit of muscle engorgement, u find this gap goes away. That said as a long time assos owner I am not quite pleased with what they’re doing with leg lengths. I bought a pair of Mila GT bibs and in their standard version or rather the only version they offer for that bib as a 6 foot male the legs are almost down to my knee.
I am 6’ 205 and 34-35 waist and also in a large.
At 40” hips the L is the right call by the size chart – Assos sizes by hip for bottoms, and 40” puts you right in the middle of L. The medium would be tighter through the seat and thighs even if the cuff is better.
The loose cuff is more likely a leg length issue than a size issue. The Mille GT S11 comes in Short, Regular, and Long inseams – if you’re shorter-legged for your height, the Short version would sit properly at the cuff without needing to size down. Worth checking with that same local shop if they have the Short inseam in L to try.
If you do go with M, keep in mind Bib Fit Guide ([bibfitguide.com](https://bibfitguide.com)) flags Assos as sizing true to chart – medium might be okay for compression fit, but L is your measured size.
