      In terms of power output that ride pans out as roughly similar to Pantani's doped record less the modern equipment efficiency and weight savings. Evolution must have started accelerating.

      No Entertainment at all,no thrill only flat path for Pogacar to win his 5th Tour de France!

      The shock of the day: RRRREEMCO EEEEEEEVENEPOOOOOOOEL. If someone told me before the stage he would drop Del Toro and Seixas on Alpe D"Huez, I'd laugh.

      One of the best stages EVER! Let me now go and rewatch the last 13 km like fifteen times today only. 🤣

      Is there any sportsperson as dominant in their sport as Pogacar? Just completely unrivalled and has been for years now.

      He is in a stratosphere above the rest of his competition. Its incredible

      What an amazing Alpe d'Huez that was.
      Probably the most exciting one I've ever seen.
      It should be noted too, that Pog was approx three & a half mins down at the bottom of the climb.
      What a superb performance from him.

      After Alfredo Binda had won 4 Giro d'Italia in the 20s of the last century, his undisputed dominance caused interest in the Giro to wane and so in view of the 1930 edition the organization made that forbidden proposal to get rid of it. They promise him a cash prize equal to that due to the winner for not racing the Giro. What do you think, could it be an idea regardin Pogi?

      If Pantani was still around today he'd kick Pogi's arse with all the modern technology, training and nutrition gains. Ride of the day is a split between Remi and Isaac with Richie putting up a good fight.

      The Performance Paradox – A Commentary from the Perspective of Sports Science
      The figures are unequivocal: Pantani (doped, hematocrit > 60%) rode Alpe d’Huez in 36:40 minutes; Armstrong (doped, VO₂max 84–85) rode it in 37:36 minutes; and Pogačar (officially clean, VO₂max 90–96) rode it in 35:26 minutes.
      A rider who achieved a VO₂max of 84–85 ml/kg/min while heavily doped is slower than a rider who is supposedly clean and reaches 90–96 ml/kg/min—a physiological value previously measured only in cross-country skiers during maximal exertion tests, not at the end of a three-week stage race.
      The question is not whether doping took place, but rather whether modern training science has physiologically surpassed the doping era, or whether the testing system is unable to cope with a new generation of methods.
      Both scenarios are possible. Neither has been proven.

      This was epic. I'm analytical (my apologies for that) but noted Tadej gained +1 second every 10 pedal strokes on all the other best bikers on this planet when he decided to go. Carapez was the real star of the day, he deserved to finish where he did against a rider who is not from this world. No other sporting event anywhere is as brutal yet the fans can literally touch the riders on those steep climbs like today! But the real winner today for me was Carapaz by far.
