  1. No. The punishment should reflect the level of risk to others of one's actions and a bike is massively less dangerous than a car…. it could kill someone but it's really really really unlikely to do so.

  2. Yes. A persoñ is killed by someone with a mechanical vehicle.
Also high powered e-bicycles should be treated the same as mopeds. Insurance, number plate, MOT, road tax. Some exceed the speed of mopeds and some are as heavily built.

  3. How many drivers get life? Death by dangerous driving used to be 5 years….. It's very rare to hear about a driver going down for any long periods of time…. How many drivers bounce off each other every day some using phones, cooking, doing makeup….. Both sides are not innocent but drivers are far more arrogant and dangerous. Wonder why fire engines have all that cutting gear….. Oh yes to remove bodies from ncap safety cubes.

  4. The amount of deaths and accidents caused by cyclists are far less than other modes of transport so are punished accordingly already that agent to some of the greatest actors of all time a rich agent drove with a cyclist on his bonnet for hundreds of yards he only got fined for going the wrong side of a traffic island it's not what you drive ride it's how rich you are and who you know the justice system and police are not here to protect everyone equally but to protect the rich the UK is corrupt from the top down

  5. So we have to pay road tax and insurance they pay nothing and put cars in danger because they get special treatment when the roads are for vehicles they can just do anything and cycle away !!! If they want to use the roads they have insurance road tax and a license plate they it’s fair !!! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

  6. The restiction of road widths for cycle lanes result in longer journeys for ambulances, construction vehicles and wide loads generally.
Cyclists have involved the country in huge expenditure with no financial or other return and no acceptance of the rules of the highway. There is no way to trace cyclist offenders.
House building is held back and currently precast and prefabricated units are way behind the times and Germany is an example to research.

  7. I was driving in Leeds and cyclist jumped red light if I hit him would not be my fault but his as I was driving thru a green light so totally agree rules are rules 👍

  8. If you are a grown up cyclist, don't ride on the pavement. Never disobey the lights when cycling. Please also wear safety gear. Don't try to overtake a large vehicle.

  9. I was walking across a pedestrian crossing. My light was green, the traffic lights were red. I was halfway across the crossing when a cyclist shot through the red light nearest hitting me

  10. All road cyclists should be at least 17, and have passed a rules of the road test.
The bikes should have number plates, insurance, tax, and a road worthy certificate.
Bikes want the same equality on the road as cars. This is what equality means.

  11. Yes Cyclist, Electric scooters, motorised wheelchairs should all be taxed and liscence plated no one seems to have Green cross code manners anymore and more me me me

  12. They should need a licence, insurance, road tax and have a registration, just like drivers. They too can cause accidents. And motor bikes need these things!

  13. It's pretty rare for a cyclist to kill a person so I would feel sorry for the poor soul who goes to prison for life for killing someone on a bike but I have a feeling they are trying to do this because of the new high powered Electric bikes that people are getting that can go 50 60 MPH and weigh half as much as I motorbike but I don't see how they could apply this to all bikes it would be pretty ridiculous.

  14. For a bit of context, 91 cyclist were killed in Britain in 2022 alone. If you were to take into account all deaths caused by motor vehicles you would realise this is a relatively small problem. The video mentions hundreds of pedestrians are injured but that is noting compared to the multiple thousands of cyclists that are seriously injured every year.

  15. 1700 killed every year by car drivers. Do we address this or spend time worrying about bicycles? Obviously waste hours of parliamentary time on legislating against bicycles because there is already legislation dealing with this…
Or maybe address the problem of 5 people a day dying on the road because of cars?.. No? Thought not. Nobody cares if a car driver kills.
