  1. have you considered 2.4s instead? maybe only in the front since that’s where you’re putting all that weight. don’t want to be caught under biking on that yellow and grey grav.

You need AT LEAST 2.8” to carry groceries on the bars like that you wild man. Think MONSTER GRAVEL!

May I suggest a better solution than carrying the bags on the bars? Panniers or front rack?

  4. Good you removed the bar tape for extra weight and aero gains. Lose the penis-head end caps too, they’re too girthy to be aero.

How can you possible see a map on that screen? Wahoo Ace to ensure it also covers the 2.25s needed.

  6. Just FYI, grocery bag in the spokes is how I went over the bars in traffic. Happens quick.

  7. I went from 40s to 43s on my travel bike. The decrease in acceleration is already noticeable but the wider tire is a bit more supple against bumps. I think you’ll be fine with 45s.

    A. Get a grocery pannier before you kill your fool self.

I was just looking at my 800mm flat bars & thinking if anyone asks, they are for carrying extra grocery bags… now this post. Crazy coincidence

  10. Try hauling a 12-pack of beer on your handlebars. I almost swerved directly into a bus doing that. I don’t think tire width made a difference that time.
