I bought a 2021 Trek Domane AL 2 in 2022 for CAD900$ (700 USD). It has the Shimano Claris groupset. I find it a very nice entry level road bike, but at 1250$ it doesn’t make much sense unless the groupset is better than the Claris.
I’m not a bike expert so maybe my opinion isn’t correct and I just got lucky with my find, but that was what I found buying that bike model 2nd hand a few years ago.
