You were doing so well… until you pronounced Cheltenham 😂
I was there last month – stayed in a small village off the beaten track. I'd recommend avoiding the weekends and maybe focus on two or three of the more popular places and get there before lunch – the earlier the better. Maybe even have breakfast in one and coffee in another and then find some out of the way places to go for the rest of the day. Although if you're in the area on a Sunday, the Sunday roast at the Blue Boar in Chipping Norton was really good.

Often people do not realise the Cotswolds style towns and villages extends down into Wiltshire too. I live in the 12th century town of Malmesbury a beautiful old town with the oldest hotel in England and the abbey founded 1180 and we have the tomb of the first king of England Athelstan.
6:40 This reminds me of a story I heard about Moreton-in-Marsh getting so many Japanese tourists that the folks in charge of the station made the signs bilingual with English and Japanese.

Looks beautiful….but ruined by tourists. When i lived in Waikiki i would wake up ar 4am so i could take a walk. Anytime after that was screaming children and rude tourist.
So if you fly in to London airport. Do they have a bullet train to those towns or bus or rail that can travel all the way to the places in the video? Because i dont want to drive

Do you recommend taking thrain and visiting or a doing an actual tour from London. We are just doing a Day trip.

I've been twice, both times in February and it was wonderful. Your opening in Bibury – we were the only people there the time we went late in the afternoon. And it was on a Saturday. I live in Chicago and the weather was MUCH better than back at home. Yes, it gets dark early but the driving and parking is easier so you can see a lot in less time. We did not reserve table anywhere. This makes me want to go back next winter.
Listen, are there buses between the villages? How do you get around?
Going in a week, so looking forward to it.. flying into Bristol

This thursday i ll be visiting the Cotswolds for a 4 day trip with my teenage daughter. We are from the Netherlands. Last year she turned into a real Anglophile, she loves everything about the language, the landscapes, the culture. My wife always used her Veto against a holiday to England or Scotland, because of the weather in the UK. Contrary to my wife, my daughter and i can also appreciate a moderate to low temperature with some light rain. Now it seems it ll be 28 degrees (83F) this week😂. So thats why it ll be a father daughter trip. I ve already found lots of useful info here, but all suggestions are welcome.

Personally, I think the Cotswold's are rather overrated.
The Derbyshire Peak District has many pretty villages including Hartington, Monash and Tideswell. It is still a working area with big beef and sheep farms and stone quarries.
The people are more genuine and down to earth than the incomers of places like Moreton in Marsh.
The limestone topography is magnificent and abounds with crags and caves.
This is so beautiful but this is horrible for the people who live there! This is too much!

The south is the friendly and prettiest in the country.
I feel so sorry for the people who live in Bibury – IMAGINE having to put up with all those tourists gawping through your window. The local council are going to have to do something to stop this level of intrusion and find a way to limit the numbers

You forgot to mention one important thing, that is to enjoy the tour rather than spending too much time trying to make every photo perfect. What I noticed at times, people are too busy stressing themselves to take the perfect photos that they completely missed the point of traveling. The highlight of traveling should be the experience, taking photos is important (especially if it’s not easy for you to go to such places several times) but it shouldn’t be to the point that it’s what you’ve been doing the entire trip. Unless of course if you’re doing it as part of your work, like you’re there to work rather than being on a holiday (e.g. you’re business is travel guides like Rick Steeves or if you’re a model currently working on photoshoots).
