If you’re looking for something to do bike things, this will work if it has been maintained. If it hasn’t you could easily spend $1000 + to get it back into riding shape. If you’re looking to buy a bike to do MTB things with, this is a waste of money

Old bikes can often be more trouble than they are worth. If it truly is in 100% working order it probably still isn’t worth quite $200 though
Edit: I should say *really* old bikes, like more than 15-20 years

I’d ask them to meet at a bike shop and just ask a tech to do a quick once over with it. But if it has original components and is dialed, like DIALED, yes it is a good deal. Imo.

If you like working on bikes, pick it up for $100 and half the fun would be tinkering with it.

That bikes only good for riding to 7 eleven 3 blocks away from your homeless shelter. It’s at least 20 years old.
