Two-time winner Jonas Vingegaard suffered a race-ending crash about 20 kilometers from the end of Stage 15 of the Tour de France 2026.

He lost his front wheel on a routine turn and had a sling around his right arm minutes later while being helped into an ambulance.

Vingegaard was second in the GC and chasing his third TDF victory.

  1. It wouldn't have happened had someone taken a $10 can of spray paint and ten minutes to mark the curbs bright yellow. The red and white is not nearly sufficient. It's so sad, I was hoping for a epic fight between the two in the mountains.

  2. Wishing you lots of strength, Jonas, and a speedy recovery. The same goes for the guys who crashed in the sprint last week! It is very unfortunate that all this can happen! 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤

  3. so stupid how dangerous roads have become with all this "furniture" and paint on the roads. Notice none of the bikes are using those raised bike lanes either.

  4. I’m not usually one to blame the race organizers for crashes, but that traffic island was a huge risk and there should have been warnings and a flag waver

  5. Damn stupid to built those barricades. Why not some metal boards etc to make it like ramp. Or remove it and then rebuilt after the race. Or put like 10km/h speed limit for 100m…

  6. Oh no!!!! Jonas down again! Yikes! Remco takes advantage and makes moves up the GC. Pogacar is still the KING overall, it looked like he wanted Remco to win. Pogacar did not sprint to win….. Why not? Maybe the booing is getting to him? Pogacar could have gotten closer to Sir Mark Cavendish with another Stage win. Lets see what happens next moving closer to Paris.

  7. They really need to start neutralizing the race for situations like this. Have a system like waved double yellows like in Formula 1. The roads are getting really dangerous with all the traffic calming furniture.

  8. Cant blame the course each time. this time the guy in front has time to react, the guy in 6th wheel has none, dangers of been in the pel. the last time i had time to react i could only break the brake cables, the end outcome was not changing so much. we all want joonas back.

  9. Looks like there is some gravels just at the entry of the left side. I don't think it was a lack of focus, it's just bad luck.
That's insane. It could have happened to anybody including Tadej. And in 1min he is out of the tour.
