Good morning Oracles
Has anyone got any ideas why this headset is rubbing? The cups touch together on the top, and it’s causing resistance while steering.
-I’ve got the preload nice
– I’m sure the headset has all the components.
-The cups are fully pressed into the frame squarely.
-Recently got brand new bearings, the exact same as the previous worn ones.
But it still seems to misalign. Has anyone got any ideas please?
+Headset is a Cane Creek Aheadset. Older version of their current 40 series. I can find the exact model number if helpful.

Looks to be a [Comp-Set](https://road.cc/content/review/4969-specialized-comp-road-stem) stem, and I suspect the angled shims are not arranged correctly.
I’d dismantle, check orientation, double check headset as there might also be an issue here, then reassemble; setting pre-load as normal.
