Do you need an adventure bike for a motorcycle trip to Europe?
After riding through Spain, the Pyrenees and the Picos de Europa on my Triumph Speed Triple 1050R, and talking to plenty of bikers along the way, I realised many riders either spend more than they need to on another bike, or never go at all because they doubt their bike or themselves.
This isn’t about saying adventure bikes are bad, and it’s not a debate about which bikes are better. Every bike has its own character and strengths (and I love them all!). This video is for anyone who’s ever looked at their own bike and wondered, “Is it enough? or “Can I do it?”.
If it gets even a few people to stop waiting, take the trip on the bike they already own, and make some amazing memories, then it’s been worthwhile.
If I can do it, anyone can. Simples!!

I have an MT09 and have been away twice so far this year , I have the touring pack so it's comfy over miles , then when the twisties arrive it's so much fun , enjoyed the series of that tour 👍
A friend and I went to Wales from london over a weekend on our sv650x and street triple 675 and it was great! The best bike really is the one you own
If you are going anywhere in Europe, on paved roads, where people live, work & commute on a wide variety of motorcycles, an Advencha bike is not a necessity. The size, weight & "i've got luggage and will ram it full" mindset comes with its' own issues. I toured Europe on a Kawa W800 & was camping.
Stop more often 👍🏻
And riding alone is way better than in a group, where different bikes & rider attitudes, can cause discord.
