This is the first episode of the cycling from Bordeaux to Avignon along the Garonne and Du Midi canals. We don’t cycle much in this episode, as we show what we did in the first few days of our trip setting ourselves up for the cycling adventure ahead.

Hi Craig & Jacquie, we have enjoyed binge-watching your videos the last few days. We are planning our first bike touring trip in April (EV6 & 15) and we will also be storing our bikes at Ian's place in Boubiers. I have a couple of questions if you don't mind:
1. We have ridden a little in Paris but the ride between Gare Saint Lazare and Gare Montparnasse (which we also need to take) looks a little sketchy. How did you find it and do you have any advice? (perhaps the drill down photos I'm looking at appears worse because they were taken during the Olympics preparations)
2. You mentioned there are no shops in Boubiers, how far do you need to travel to purchase groceries or the nearest restaurant?
3. I notice Jacquie has the Ortlieb Handle Bar bag. We're considering one but we have concerns they have an annoying rattle (which I suspect is what we could hear in some of the videos?) Would you recommend?
