Not a well known route, but last week I completed the “Dutch Divide”: 1000km crossing 8 Dutch provinces – from the southwest to the northeast – with over 50 percent of offroad. I completed it in 7 days. It was beautiful; amazing how you can ride through all the different types of Dutch landscapes and nature for days. Gave me a new perspective on a country that I have been living in all of my life. Would recommend!

  1. Nice! always good to hear about new routes in EU! Out of curiosity, which bike did you complete it with? Is it fully offroad? Seems silly to ask, but wondering about refueling points and resting areas 🙂

  2. Oh this looks fun! I’m a bike tourer rather than a bike packer but this route really appeals to me.

Couple of questions: What’s the surface quality like? Could I do this with panniers?

Getting to the start and away from the end by train looks like a pain in the saddle.

Besides, cool route. Should have included the Achterhoek.
