  2. Rotate so the link is between your cassette and chain ring on the top. Hold your brakes and stamp on your pedal (chain ring side)

    Hold the breaks, put your weight on the seat and give the pedals a hard push

    Move the pedals to where the master link is inbetween the chain ring and cassette. Hold the brakes and give the pedals a good pedal forward. You should hear the master link ping / click into place

  5. Park tool pliers. I paid 14 bucks, totally worth it.

  6. Hold the rear brake and pedal forward, with the master link in between the front and rear gears top side of chain. Or get some bike chain pliers.

    Push both chain ends toward each other while the chain hangs slack on the bottom run, that usually seats it. Or grab a pair of master link pliers, they make this way easier.
