Over the last few weeks I’ve seen several posts from Aeroad owners asking about cracks and warranty experiences. After going through it myself, I wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone who’s anxious like I was.

My 2026 Aeroad developed a crack. Finding it was honestly pretty unsettling. When you invest in a bike like this, your mind immediately starts racing. Is it safe? Am I going to be stuck without a bike for months? Is this going to turn into a fight over warranty?

Thankfully, that wasn’t my experience.

From the moment I brought the bike into Canyon, Gavin, the showroom manager in Carlsbad, was outstanding. He never dismissed my concerns, kept me informed throughout the process, and reassured me every step of the way. That level of communication made a stressful situation much easier.

For context, I’m fortunate to live locally and was able to work directly with the Canyon showroom. Gavin also shared that, assuming another rider’s situation was similar to mine, he would expect the same warranty process to be followed through an authorized local bike shop. Obviously every claim is different, and I’m not suggesting every experience or outcome will be identical. I’m simply sharing what happened in my case.

I also can’t say whether the number of posts online points to a broader issue or if it’s simply coincidence. I’ll leave that discussion to Canyon and the engineers. I can only speak to my own experience.

What I can say is this: Canyon did the right thing.
They stood behind their product, replaced my frame under warranty, completed a full frame swap, and even included a new computer mount with integrated light. I ended up with a specialty color Aeroad that I probably wouldn’t have chosen initially, and now I absolutely love it.
Was it an inconvenience? Absolutely.
Would I have preferred the crack never happened? Of course.

But companies aren’t judged only by when everything goes perfectly. They’re judged by how they respond when something goes wrong. In my case, Canyon made me whole and exceeded my expectations.

If you’re currently waiting on a warranty decision or wondering what the process might look like, I hope my experience provides a little reassurance. It may not be the same for everyone, but I wanted to share a positive story alongside some of the others being discussed.

Thank you, Canyon.

And a special thank you to Gavin. Your transparency, communication, and commitment to taking care of your customers turned what started as a stressful experience into one that reinforced my confidence in the brand.
