I ordered a Canyon Pathlite 6, and received it on Saturday 11/18/2023, and I took it for a test ride. Well not even 20 minutes into the ride, disaster struck, I tried to shift into the highest gear, and the chain went past it and got lodged between the gear and the plastic disc causing the wheel to lock up and the derailleur to snap off at the hanger, which in turn caused me to lose control of the bike and crash into a pole and then the dang bike sustained a nasty chip in the top tube! Luckily I was uninjured, but I had to take the masterlink and chain off, and walk all the way home in the freezing cold looking like a total moron! I just dropped the bike off at FedEx yesterday and now I’m going to have to wait for god knows how long for a refund just so I can order another bike, then I’ll have to wait even longer for that to be shipped!
This is bogus! And the icing on the cake?
I have no transportation, and this bike was supposed to be a replacement for a bike that was hit by a car while locked to a pole!

Here’s a pic of the chip in the paint on the top tube
And before any of you say “big deal” or “it happens,”
Most people would prefer to keep their stuff in nice condition for a while before wear and tear starts
Not the same friggin day you got it!
Would you want a chip like that in your shiny new car’s paint job?

My refund is still being processed after 45 days. Good luck!
I think the real answer is you need to stay away from poles.
