Just happy I completed STP 2026 (Seattle to Portland) this weekend on my Brompton T-Line. This is my second time with that same bike, but this time with minor upgrades compared to last year, zero accident ( had a couple of scary moments in 2025 πŸ˜…), and doing it solo, in 2 days; not as brave as Best Side Cycling who did it in one day last year on his T-Line!

This year I only saw one (older model) Brompton this year, ridden by an old man; I saw more Brompton last year. Met people who told me they had Bromptons but not crazy enough to do STP on them because of the higher effort πŸ˜“

My setup if people are interested:
– T-Line 12 speed i got in 2024
– Brooks saddle B17 Special Titanium black
– Ergon grip GP1 evo which I installed before the day before the race (I had 100mm Brooks grips which I hated…) – trimmed to 100mm
– SQLab Innerbarends carbon grips
– For the bottles, I had the Brompton-branded Fidlock bottles previously… and I hated the bottles last year + their cooling sleeves (bottles leaking and water getting warm quickly). But because I liked the system, I got the Fidlock universal adapter on my old insulated bottles, and they worked great!
– Small Brompton zip case which I really like. Last year, I used some small Wontancraft front bag which I also like, but not super stable on long ride (attached to stem via some elastic band). The Brompton zip case uses the front block so it was great!
– Brompton Quadlock adapter for the T-Line to which I attached a 3rd party 3D printed Quadlock to Garmin adapter for my Garmin computer πŸ˜… The reason is that I have a M handbar, and my large Garmin computer has to sit a bit higher so I could rotate to lock it… A bit convoluted but it works.
– New toolkit for the T-Line. Last time, I bought my old toolkit from my old Bromptons, and an additional Tern mini toolkit. This year, I thought one toolkit was enough.
– Internal storage bag (inside the main frame) where I put my spare tubes and other small stuffs.
-Brompton puncture pouch, mostly for additional storage. I have a Vincita boomerang bag, much cheaper, but somehow, I think the Brompton pouch has more space inside, way simpler/easier to install or remove, waterproof and lighter.
– Other gadgets: Garmin speed/cadence sensors, Be Seen and Cateye 500lm front lights, Garmin Rearvue radar/light, Garmin Edge 1050.

Well done by my rough maths average of 12.5 mph or 20 km/h for 16 hours with the climb is some going, you should be proud of your achievement πŸ₯‚
