Did my first gravel event this past Sunday

A crit racer giving gravel a proper go, fair play to you for stepping outside your comfort zone. The terrain in those photos looks rough, especially that third one with all the loose stones and exposed roots waiting to catch an unsuspecting wheel. That’s a world away from the smooth tarmac of a criterium, though I’d wager the effort required is similar just spread out over a longer stretch. The aid station shot looks like a proper gathering, plenty of folks hanging about and having the craic while the bikes get a rest. If Lachlan Morton is turning up at your local event that’s a good sign gravel’s gone mainstream in those parts. How did your legs feel after, any different from a crit?
