I fill the little cuts, that are only on the rubber and not the carcass, with gel super glue.

id patch the inside, the one that uses glue, not the self adhesive ones.

What does the inside of the casing look like? Almost certainly this is fine. If there’s not a substantial cut on the inside of the casing, can just glue from the exterior, or probably do nothing.
Edit: if there’s a cut, a vulcanizing patch could probably help, but I’ve only really needed this for tubeless setups.

I’ve got some some Zefal inserts for my commuters….. they do various widths with no noticeable difference to performance.
Depends how serious a cyclist you are I suppose. But….I have gp5000s and I feel your pain.
I’d be on the fence as to do nothing or put a small patch on the inside.

Pinch it open like you did in the last picture. Place one drop of vulcanizing glue into the opening and smear it around on the 2 sides of the cut. Wipe off the excess and hold it that way until it looks dry and then just let the opening go back together it’ll seal the tire together.

That hole isn’t huge. You could probably slap a tube in it and it’d be fine. That said, the “right” way to fix this is to patch it on the inside. It’ll keep the tube from pushing out of the hole or going flat again.

If the tube is going to blow through the hole, THATS WHEN it becomes a problem.

Definitely patch the inside, if your still nervous you can fill the crack with some rubber bonding epoxy like jb weld.

By the end of a tire’s expected life, you’ll have lots of these little cuts in it. If the tube’s not coming out of the hole, you’re good.

I run Stan’s Notubes, Orange Seal, or Mariposa Caffelatex tubless sealer inside the tubes.
The Stan’s freezes with C02 that’s why the others are used.
Desert riders with tires full of thorns swear by it. Schwalbe even offers it now.

I hate flats but so satisfying finding what did it still stuck in your tyre

That is tiny. I’ve defs had much worse and still never patched a tyre. It is 1000% fine to just take out the glass and patch the tube.

Patch inside. Shoe glue outside

I have a few hundred miles on a tire with almost the exact same slice in the tire. It’s been fine. I’ll probably patch the inside at some point so that it doesn’t get bigger.
