As a kid I had a PK Ripper BMX & I worked hard for it. Loved that thing and was the only person with one.
40 years later I’m 52 and been riding a Haro BMX the last 2 months.
I want to get a bike for comfort and some tracks, is my mind stuck on the BMX & the PK Ripper fantasy?
Should I get off and get a mountain bike or a 29” GT performer or a fast RIpper with 10 gears?
I’m mostly riding flat roads and the odd trails, got a BMX for all else.
I know they are wheelie bikes but I’ve heard they are super comfy on a journey
TIA.

I know the last thing you’re looking for when trying to decide is another suggestion, but, I can’t say enough about my fairdales. The weekender is great just to cruise around. Super comfortable. The Taj is great for cruising, and moderate tricks.
I have a high end 29er XC bike, several BMX bikes and a GT Street Performer 29. They all have their place, but the bike I want more often than not is the Performer. It’s light, simple and fun to whip around town, car shows, pump tracks, mild trails or whatever. It’s my do everything work horse when I’m not riding a specific discipline.
If it’s a “road” 10 speed I wouldn’t put up with the faff of a derailleur if it essentially doesn’t have a climb gear. Those cassettes are designed for a 3 speed front mech basically
I’d prefer the Pro Performer… or an MTB
I mean they are 2 wildly diff bikes for diff riding. But this is the BMX sub lol
All I can say is probly don’t get the geared BMX that has zero gear range.
For me, the ripper.
