In September 2019 I spent 3 weeks cycling in Croatia. Entering in Istria from Slovenia I made my way along the coast all the way to the southern tip of Istria. Most of the coastline is very touristy so wasn´t exactly my cup of tea but it was beautiful nonetheless. I ventured inland briefly in Istria and it was a different world, deserted, quiet – I loved it.
I then took the ferry to Cres island, Krk island, Rab and finally Pag, the country getting wilder the further south I went.
I then was back on the mainland, a brief visit in Zadar and then again I went back inland and again I was treated to some of the best riding I´ve had. No tourists out in the countryside.
And finally, the magical Split, before departing on a ferry to Ancona.

Lovely video. Looks like a great place for cycling.
Enjoyed that….cheers.
Respect man, looks like a stunning trip
Great trip at time when we could ride where we liked.
do you buy bike insurance?
Great video! How did you map out the route? I’m planning a tour and wanted to add Croatia, but wasn’t sure if there are preferred routes through the country. I’m from the US and have done a lot of touring and camping here. Similar setup for my bike along with camping, carrying my own food, and using rivers and lakes to get cleaned up when there aren’t showers. Thanks for the advice.
